Marking its 200th anniversary, the National Gallery in London is hosting a groundbreaking exhibition dedicated to the Dutch master Vincent van Gogh. Titled “Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers,” this highly anticipated event also celebrates the centenary of the gallery’s acquisition of two iconic van Gogh artworks, Sunflowers and Van Gogh’s Chair (1888).

One of the major highlights of the exhibition is the display of van Gogh’s drawings alongside his paintings, including several never-before-seen artworks on loan from museums and private collectors. Running from September 14, 2024, to January 19, 2025, tickets are being released in phases and can currently be booked only until October 13, 2024. Standard admission is priced at £24 for non-members, while gallery members can attend for free.

The exhibition features more than 50 works by the famed Impressionist. While some are part of the National Gallery’s collection, others are on loan from renowned institutions such as the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Additional works have been lent by The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo. The exhibition is divided into eight themed rooms, providing ample space for art enthusiasts to gather and discuss the works.
