The online solidarity, collaboration, and art network “Through The Window” (TTW) that brings together queer artists, thinkers, and nightlife workers from Türkiye, the Netherlands, and beyond will kick off its fifth edition on May 13. Through The Window, facilitated by Dutch philosopher and writer Simon(e) van Saarloos, artist and LGBTQIA+ rights activist Kübra Uzun, digital media and communication expert Zekican Sarısoy and photography artist and curator Ömer Tevfik Erten aka ÖTE, aims to support queer artists from Türkiye, the Netherlands, and beyond, to grow together through collective thinking, creating, and enjoying, and to expand the network of interaction.
The interdisciplinary exhibition will begin on June 26 on TTW’s Instagram account. It features works by 30 queer artists from Türkiye, the Netherlands, and beyond, showcasing photography, painting, video, and sound.
As part of the project, the TTW exhibition will showcase the works of 30 queer artists from Türkiye, the Netherlands, and beyond. The exhibition, titled “TTW Sees Fire,” is in its fifth tour and can be viewed on Instagram and the website. Art lovers can enjoy the artworks created around the theme of “TTW Sees Fire.”
The project, which started online in 2020 with the support of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Istanbul, completed its subsequent three rounds (2021, 2022, 2023) with the support of the Prince Claus Fund. Each round of Through The Window lasts for two months. With all its components, Through The Window focuses on equality, diversity, and unity by designing online exhibitions, talks, workshops, and parties.
TTW will end with the online exhibition opening, chat and closing party on Wednesday, June 26.
