German photographer Sven Marquardt’s solo exhibition titled “NACHTBLENDE”, organized in cooperation with Yapı Kredi Bomontiada and Goethe-Institut Istanbul, meets art lovers at Yapı Kredi Bomontiada between 9-26 November.
The “NACHTBLENDE” exhibition showcases the work of photographer Sven Marquardt, who is known for being a pioneer of the punk and new wave movements in East Berlin during the mid-1980s, and has since become an important figure in the art world. The exhibition draws inspiration from the unique cultural atmosphere of Berlin.
The exhibition showcases Marquardt’s various series that capture the clubs and subcultures in Berlin over the past 25 years. It features carefully selected photographs of people from the artist’s friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, including works from 1987. These selected works also provide a glimpse into the subculture in East Berlin.
“NACHTBLENDE” exhibition will open on November 9 with DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann’s experimental live performance called SLIDE, which gives an insight into his musical career in recent years. This collaboration, which brings Marquardt and Dettmann together for the second time, focuses on the harmony between music and image, with photography and sound flowing together. This digital image composition, designed by visual artist Lars Murasch, will be exhibited in addition to the photographic works of Sven Marquardt.
