From November 22, 2024, to January 19, 2025, Triennale Milano opens its doors to the Turkish sculptor Seçkin Pirim’s first solo exhibition in Italy, curated by Tommaso Tovaglieri. This landmark event, organized in collaboration with the Public Art Office Municipality of Milan, promises a captivating exploration of the artist’s mastery of material, space, and light.

Pirim’s creations, crafted from resin, paper, aluminium, glass, and marble, blur the lines between art and design. With their intricate geometries, dynamic forms, and interplay of translucency, they draw viewers into a dialogue between nature and culture, technology and craftsmanship. His minimalist sculptures reflect a harmony between digital precision and human touch, making each piece both an architectural marvel and an emotive expression.

An Immersive Journey Across Triennale’s Spaces

The exhibition begins at the Palazzo dell’Arte’s outdoor space with The Gate of Eye (2024), a monumental car-painted polyester sculpture that sets the tone for the journey within. Indoors, highlights include Vertical Touch and Seven Days, among other unpublished and iconic works that demonstrate Pirim’s dedication to form and his fascination with light as a sculptural medium.

While not directly linked to Optical Art, Pirim’s works echo its principles by challenging spatial perception through repeated geometric patterns, translucent surfaces, and vibrant interactions with light. His innovative sculptural paintings and layered marble forms exemplify a blend of organic vitality and precise engineering, embodying his signature style.

A Collaborative Triumph

Supported by partners including Hitay Foundation, Karaca, and institutional allies like Lavazza Group and Salone del Mobile.Milano, the exhibition celebrates Pirim’s international acclaim. Known for his groundbreaking shows at Istanbul Modern, New York’s C24 Gallery, and the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum, Pirim’s works continue to garner admiration for their ability to transform static materials into flowing, almost living forms.

This exhibition is not just a showcase of Pirim’s artistry but an invitation to rethink the boundaries of sculpture, design, and the role of light in creating immersive art experiences. Don’t miss this chance to witness the transformative power of Pirim’s vision at Triennale Milano.
