The third installment of the ‘Orhan Pamuk: The Comfort of Objects’ exhibition opened this Wednesday at the DOX Modern Art Museum in Prague, where it welcomed Czech visitors. The exhibition, which will run until April 6, includes a wide array of works, featuring displays from ‘The Museum of Innocence’, illustrations and photographs Pamuk has drawn in his notebooks over the years, as well as new pieces created in collaboration with European museums over the past three years.
The exhibition begins with a view of the Bosphorus from Pamuk’s apartment, where he has lived and worked for over four decades. It continues with works inspired by photographs from his book ‘The Balcony’, seagull paintings, and the scenery he observes from his window. The visual journey, enriched with images from ‘Orange’, offers a unique perspective on Istanbul through Pamuk’s eyes, highlighting his visual relationship with the city.
At the core of the exhibition is ‘The Museum of Innocence’, which tells the love story of Kemal and Füsun. The museum links everyday objects with both time and narrative, while three-dimensional collages transform the power of these items into poetic expressions. The exhibition features 41 showcases from ‘The Museum of Innocence’.
