Istanbul State Opera and Ballet opens new season

Istanbul State Opera and Ballet is preparing to open the new season at Atatürk Cultural Center on the evening of Sept 27.

Istanbul State Opera and Ballet will open the 2023-2024 season with the ‘Season Opening Night’ to be held at the Türk Telekom Opera Hall in Atatürk Cultural Center on September 27. ‘Season Opening Night’ shows will also host the audiences on September 30, during the opening event of the Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival.

The opening night will host scenes from Fidelio, Don Giovanni, I Puritani, Il Trovatore, Yevgeni Onegin, Lucia di Lammermoor, Otello, Cavalleria Rusticana, Aida, Nabucco, Faust, La Bohème, Carmen operas and Giselle, as well as ballet shows, La Bayadère and Don Quiote.

İbrahim Yazıcı as the orchestra conductor and Volkan Akkoç as the choir conductor,  will be presenting L. van Beethoven, W.A. Mozart, V. Bellini, G.Verdi, P.İ and selections from the world opera repertoire of composers such as Tchaikovsky, G. Donizetti, P. Mascagni, C. Gounod, G. Puccini and G. Bizet.
