Dirimart hosts Albert Bitran’s exhibition between May 3 and June 2. Bitran, a pivotal figure in Paris’ post-World War II abstract art movement invites viewers to a journey through his poetic works.
The exhibition titled ‘Land of Shadows Land of Sky’ showcases a selection of works produced by Bitran
between 1956 and 2013. The exhibition opens with an inviting atmosphere resembling Bitran’s studio in Paris, offering an experience that transcends any historical or stylistic categorization. It emphasizes the spatial sensitivity that the artist has maintained throughout his career and the seamless transitions
between the series he developed in different periods.
Land of Shadows Land of Sky showcases a broad spectrum of Bitran’s work, from geometric abstract beginnings to abstractions inspired by his life in the South of France and the compositions he created by playing with interior and exterior concepts. On the other hand, his later pieces are interpreted as an unraveling of new dimensions created by their accumulation over time, each with its own dynamics.A world built on abstractions meets the viewers in Land of Shadows Land of Sky, while the works
address different phases of Bitran’s art and life through the temporal and spatial expanse of his
works.
