Bottega Veneta, in collaboration with Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier, has unveiled On the Rocks at this year’s Milan Design Week. Creatively directed by Matthieu Blazy, the installation breathes new life into the LC14 Tabouret Cabanon, a minimalist masterpiece originally crafted by Le Corbusier for his cabin on the Côte d’Azur.

The design, known for its stark simplicity and functionality, is reimagined in a traditional charred wood finish and luxurious leatherwork, the latter showcasing Bottega Veneta’s signature Intreccio technique. Each stool features oblong openings for easy handling, dovetail joints that emphasize the wooden structure, and a color palette that derives from Le Cabanon’s natural environments.

This collaboration celebrates Le Corbusier’s vision and pushes the boundaries of artisanal craftsmanship with the incorporation of modern artistic methods. Displayed at Palazzo San Fedele, soon to be Bottega Veneta’s headquarters, On the Rocks brings together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design techniques, offering a fresh perspective on classic elements.

From April 16 – 20, On the Rocks invites visitors to explore its unique intersection of fashion, design, and architectural heritage at Palazzo San Fedele, located in the heart of  Milan
