ArtIstanbul Feshane Finalist of World Architecture Festival

ArtIstanbul Feshane is among the finalists of the World Architecture Festival, one of the world's most respected architecture events. The festival will be held in Singapore between 6-8 November.

Artİstanbul Feshane, Istanbul’s largest culture and art focus in public space, was selected as one of the 16 projects that made it to the finals in the “refunctionalization” category at the World Architecture Festival. The World Architecture Festival will be held in Singapore between 6 and 8 November. The events held during the festival, which brings together the leading names of the field from architects to designers under the same roof, will once again offer important experiences for the participants.

ArtIstanbul Feshane

ArtIstanbul Feshane, which was opened in July 2023, was brought to the city with the comprehensive restoration and re-functional works carried out by IBB Miras in Feshane-i Amire, one of the most important industrial buildings inherited from the Ottoman Empire. The historical building is a landmark of Istanbul with its multi-purpose units spanning 8 thousand square meters, an exhibition hall that is one of the largest exhibition halls in Istanbul, Naile Akıncı Library, congress, workshops, food and beverage and resting areas, open-air movie screenings, concerts and a children’s festival. It stands out as a living center that brings life to the city.

ArtIstanbul Feshane, first opened its doors with the exhibition titled “Starting from the Middle”, organized by the Istanbul Arts Council, with the participation of 19 curators and 300 artists, and featuring more than 400 works.

The 10th Asia-Europe Mediations Biennial / “I am Another You, You are Another Me” exhibition, featuring 17 curators and 154 artists from 44 countries, was presented to the audience between 31 October and 11 December 2023.

Istanbul Feshane hosted the “The Dynamic Eye: Beyond Op and Kinetic Art’‘ exhibition, this time from the collection of Tate between January 21 and July 7, 2024. Thousands of people visited the exhibition, which remained open to visitors for approximately 5 months. Simultaneously with the exhibition, 16 exhibition tours and art workshops were held for children and 40 for adults. 

One of the doyens of Turkish graphic arts, calligrapher and bookbinding artist Prof. Emin Barın’s works, “Neither Ruku From You nor Resurrection From Me”, can be seen until August 2024 in ArtIstanbul Feshane.
