Focusing on art, design and sustainable living, Upcycle Istanbul Art & Design Festival will take place this year on May 15-18 at Museum Gazhane. Upcycle Istanbul Art & Design Festival, which sets out with the theme “Are You Ready to Start the Transformation from Yourself?”, invites you to think about individual awareness and environmental responsibility together. Throughout the festival, there will be many events on topics such as waste-free living, sustainable design, recycling, and production in harmony with nature.
Upcycle Istanbul Art & Design Festival: The Journey of Transformation Begins with Workshops
Upcycle Istanbul Art & Design Festival’s meticulously prepared workshop program explores different dimensions of sustainable living. Ranging from natural dyeing methods to upcycling techniques, from waste-free living suggestions to creative design applications with recycled materials, the rich content appeals to participants of all ages. These workshops both nurture the enthusiasm for production and offer the opportunity to build a more conscious relationship with the environment.
Some of the highlights of the workshop calendar are as follows: Creating pepper-shaped accessories from old fabrics, designing retro mini robots by assembling unused parts, preparing personal care products with natural ingredients and care techniques for kitchen utensils. Visitors are also invited to a creative experience where they will have the opportunity to personalize a Save the Duck duck. The psychological resilience workshop will focus on the healing aspect of art, opening new doors for participants to cope with challenging times.
Upcycle Istanbul Art & Design Festival: Creative Workshops for Children
Workshops intertwined with nature and art have been designed for the festival’s little guests. In BitesizeBots & Company’s “Retro Mini Robot Children’s Workshop”, children aged 8 and up will meet the fun and creative side of upcycling while designing their own robots with recycled materials.
The “Journey from Coffee Waste to Art” workshops organized by Hisleri Harika are offered in special sessions for two different age groups (5-9 years and 8-12 years). These activities, where daily coffee waste is transformed into artistic materials, open a pleasant space for children that combines environmental awareness with creative production.
