Africa’s leading international contemporary art fair, the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, is set to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from February 21 to 23, 2025. The event will include the works of several Turkish artists.
Bringing together 124 participants from across the globe, the Investec Cape Town Art Fair returns in 2025 with its latest edition, “Celebrating Art, Creativity, and Discovery Through the Power of Play.” This year’s event will also introduce several galleries making their debut at the fair.
Taking place in Cape Town, a city that has steadily grown as a cultural hub, the fair provides a platform for art collectors, galleries, curators, artists, and art journalists to explore cutting-edge contemporary art and foster new connections.
With “PLAY” as its central theme, the 2025 fair focuses on the interactive and creative dimensions of art. Fair director Laura Vincenti explains, “PLAY breaks down the barriers between the artist and the audience, turning art into an immersive and participatory experience. It encourages viewers to go beyond passive appreciation and actively engage in the creative process.”
Additionally, Cape Town’s top galleries, museums, and cultural institutions will contribute to the fair, further strengthening the city’s dynamic arts scene.
Discussing the key trends shaping the global art landscape and their impact on the 2025 edition of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Director Laura Vincenti highlighted:
“In recent years, there has been a noticeable rise in collective awareness within the art world, particularly regarding sustainability and eco-conscious artistic practices. Artists are moving away from conventional methods toward more environmentally responsible approaches, addressing themes such as climate change, ecological preservation, and resource repurposing.
Additionally, there is a growing emphasis on deconstructing historical power dynamics and elevating marginalized narratives, promoting intercultural dialogues and anti-colonial perspectives. These themes will play a significant role in the upcoming fair’s 12th edition.”
Öktem Aykut Gallery will participate in the Investec Cape Town Art Fair with works by Begüm Yamanlar, Toygun Özdemir, Sinan Logie, and Mesut Öztürk. Anna Laudel’s collection will feature Mathias Hornung and Daniele Sigalot, alongside Turkish artists Ardan Özmenoğlu, Bilal Hakan Karakaya, Cem Sonel, Ertuğrul Güngör, and Faruk Ertekin. Meanwhile, Eser Gündüz will present his works as part of Paris-based Galeria La La Lande.
The 12th edition of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair is set to take place from February 21 to 23, 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
