Emmy Award-winning actor Haluk Bilginer will star with Angelina Jolie in the movie “Maria” directed by Pablo Larrain.
‘Maria’ tells the story of the life of soprano artist Maria Callas. Angelina Jolie in the movie will portray ‘Callas’; while Haluk Bilginer will portray ‘Aristotle Onassis’.
Written by Steven Knight, ‘Maria’ will be about the life of Maria Callas in Paris in the 1970s and the deep loneliness she experienced during that time. The film tells about when Aristotle Onassis left Maria Callas to marry Jackie Kennedy, the wife of John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated. After this betrayal, Callas moved first to Italy and then to France. Maria Callas died of a heart attack in 1977 at 52.
