Aiming to highlight Istanbul’s multicultural identity through art, “Theotokia” Cultural Gatherings are being held for the eighth time this summer, hosted by the Yeniköy Panayia Greek Orthodox Church and School Foundation.
The series of events, which will continue throughout August, the month dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Panayia) in the church calendar, aims to strengthen neighborhood culture, keep shared memory alive, and make Istanbul’s multicultural structure visible through art.
The rich program, ranging from concerts to exhibitions, book presentations to talks, offers participants an inspiring meeting place centered on history, music, and art. The events not only remind us of the past, but also host today’s cultural productions, reinterpreting Istanbul’s pluralistic heritage.
