Andy Sachs is back. The fashion world’s iconic tale is being rewritten for the digital era. The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1, 2026.

Twenty years ago, The Devil Wears Prada offered a sharp look into the everyday violence of the fashion industry through the eyes of an intern. But the film wasn’t just about clothes, promotions, or career collapses—it was an allegory of power, desire, and the experience of being a woman within a rigid system. Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), the young protagonist, lands an internship at the prestigious fashion magazine Runway, led by the icy and ruthless editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). The story exposed the structural inequalities hiding beneath the glossy surface of fashion, while also exploring power dynamics, personal transformation, and the representation of women in the workplace.

Now, the story returns with a second act. In the sequel, Miranda Priestly remains at the center—but this time, she’s struggling to hold onto her power in a world where print media has lost its grip and digital giants and algorithms dominate the scene. The first clue about Andy’s current life came via an on-set photo shared by Hathaway on Instagram on July 21.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 premieres on May 1, 2026. Much of the original cast returns, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. New faces join the story as well: Kenneth Branagh plays Miranda’s husband, with Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, Simone Ashley, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora also appearing. David Frankel returns as director, with the screenplay once again penned by Aline Brosh McKenna.
