Furnishings & Design Istanbul is a design event that will take place at Istanbul Expo Center Hall 9 from September 19th to 21st. The event brings furniture and related industries together, inviting visitors to explore new, creative, and original products for interior spaces. It aims to showcase tomorrow’s creative ideas and productions in Istanbul, providing a platform for new encounters.
Istanbul has been a long-standing source of inspiration for creative individuals over the course of millennia. The city’s rich history has provided fertile ground for new ideas to flourish and spread to the world. Drawing on this inspiring heritage, Furnishings & Design Istanbul is supported by the extensive networks of the Turkish furniture industry. The event aims to bring together the entire ecosystem of interior design in this vibrant city. Scheduled to take place from September 19th to 21st, 2024, in the 9th Hall of the Istanbul Expo Center, spanning an area of 5 thousand square meters, this event seeks to facilitate new connections and attract innovative ideas and quality products to the city.
Furnishings & Design Istanbul is creating opportunities for original, creative, and qualified individuals. The event is guided by a Design Committee of academics and experienced industry representatives to ensure up-to-date, high-quality content for visitors. The FDI New Horizon Exhibition will run alongside, showcasing independent Turkish designers. Designers interested in participating can now apply for the exhibition.
With the support of the Furniture Associations Federation (MOSFED), one of Turkey’s leading professional non-governmental organizations, MOS Fuarcılık A.Ş., which belongs to the federation and has previously organized many local and international fairs. MOSFED President Ahmet Güleç says, “We need a change in the focus of design, creativity and innovation in Turkey. We aim for Furnishings & Design Istanbul to create a leverage effect in this sense. Our aim is to put design at the heart of the industry and develop the intellectual capital and creative capacity of this ecosystem that is of great value to our economy. “With FDI, we want to showcase Turkey’s design potential as well as ensure that Istanbul is accepted as a new representation center in this field.”
The event will also feature the FDI New Horizon Exhibition, bringing together independent Turkish designers.
