In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Marc Jacobs curated a cast of friends and collaborators for its Spring/Summer 2024 campaign, lensed by German photographer Juergen Teller. The campaign features prominent figures including artist and photographer Cindy Sherman, along with musicians FKA Twigs, Lil Uzi Vert, and Bladee.
The lo-fi series of shots, captured in front of Marc Jacobs’ lower Manhattan headquarters, showcases each subject in a solo moment. Cindy Sherman, the septuagenarian artist, embraced two distinct personas in the shots. In one frame, she embodies a grunge aesthetic with long faux-brunette hair, seated on the side of the street with legs spread apart. In another, Sherman transforms into a blonde figure with gloved hands, standing outside the brand’s 72 Spring Street entrance while balancing on platform heels half-a-foot off the ground.
The campaign, marked by its iconic cast and the distinctive visual style of Juergen Teller, captures the essence of Marc Jacobs’ four decades in the fashion industry.
