Drawing inspiration from the intricate and interconnected nature of mycelium networks, this year’s festival seeks to foster profound connections among attendees and the world around them.

The Bozcaada Jazz Festival has become a cornerstone of the island’s cultural and economic landscape, catalyzing social and economic vibrancy. Beyond its stellar music lineup, the festival is dedicated to promoting gender equality, ecological transformation, and social inclusion. Through its “Discovery” program, the festival offers a rich tapestry of workshops, excursions, networking opportunities, panels, and discussion sessions dispersed throughout the island.

The festival’s opening day promises an eclectic mix of performances. Deniz Taşar, a multidisciplinary artist whose talents span singing, songwriting, and design, will grace the stage. Joining her will be Léon Phal, a French-Swiss saxophonist known for his seamless integration of electronic and jazz elements. The day will also feature Anika Nilles/Nevell, a German drummer and composer renowned for her virtuosic blend of jazz, funk, pop, and rock.

Day two continues the musical journey with the Öner Karaçuha Quartet, a group that melds traditional jazz with contemporary influences, featuring Oğuz Can Bilgin on trumpet, Çağan Irmak Koç on piano, Mine Yiğitbaşı on bass guitar, and Öner Karaçuha on drums. Audiences will also be treated to performances by KLEIN, the Bozcaada Ensemble, and Kraak & Smaak (Live) from the Netherlands, showcasing a medley of talents led by Önder Focan.

The festival’s final day will spotlight the Danish group Girls in Airports, the Cenk Erdoğan Trio, and Alfa Mist—a London-based ensemble known for its innovative fusion of hip-hop and jazz, led by a multifaceted pianist, composer, and producer.

Capping off the musical festivities each night, Childplay will take over the DJ stage, ensuring the celebration continues into the early hours. As the Bozcaada Jazz Festival approaches, anticipation builds for an event that promises not just musical brilliance but a deeper engagement with the themes of connection and transformation.
