Bernar Venet’s installation, placed at the entrance of the bay, consists of six arches, each 21 meters high. Like all of Venet’s works, this installation reflects his unique style of large-scale metal sculptures that explore minimalist aesthetics and mathematical concepts. The piece invites viewers to contemplate the complex relationship between art, space, and landscape, seamlessly blending with the natural beauty of the bay. The works of the French artist are featured in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Fotomuseum Winterthur in Switzerland, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. It is also worth noting a documentary produced by Zuhal Demirarslan in collaboration with ArtsConnected and Bernar Venet Studio.

Eren Göktürk at Ritmo The Bar

Michelin-starred chef Cenk Debensason has returned to Bodrum with his first project, Ritmo Zeytino. Located in an olive grove village atop a hill in Yalıkavak, the venue features a fantastic bar for sunsets. It also showcases a selection of photographs by Eren Göktürk, whose exhibition recently opened at OG Gallery. Göktürk’s work primarily focuses on scenes from everyday life, reimagined with details, light, color, and other technical elements. His large-scale, painterly works emphasize the representational and narrative potential of detail. In the clubroom of Ritmo The Bar, three large-scale photographs by Göktürk greet viewers. “Two Monkeys in the Kitchen” presents a flurry of movement without hiding that it is a kitchen set, filled with hundreds of details showing the aftermath of two people making a mess. “Ping-pong” reimagines one of the iconic American photographs. “The Scene” depicts an empty acoustic stage, reflecting Göktürk’s commentary on consumer culture and the rapid consumption objects that became prevalent in the 90s. Every action depicted in these works, though appearing complete, is a construct by Göktürk. These three pieces will accompany all music nights and events at Ritmo The Bar throughout the summer. The selection will evolve with the addition of new works, creating its own narrative over the season.
