The Artist-in-Residence Programme, organized in collaboration with Bor Sanat and EXIT, continues in 2026 under the theme “Digital Threshold.” Taking place in Mardin between February and May, the program will host artists from Turkey who are engaged in internationally oriented practices in digital art, new media, and sound design.

Where Tradition Meets the Contemporary

The choice of Mardin as the program’s location is no coincidence. This decision emerges from a desire to integrate contemporary art’s current disciplines and technological modes of expression into a production environment shaped by the city’s strong pictorial and cultural traditions. By bringing the new narrative possibilities offered by digital art into dialogue with today’s technological and conceptual transformations, the program aims to position Mardin as a site of encounter between past and present.

Through intensive workshop processes, Bor Sanat seeks to establish fertile ground for interdisciplinary exchange and production. By bringing together independent artists living in and around Mardin with new media practitioners, the program enables a reciprocal interaction of knowledge, experience, and aesthetic approaches. This encounter aims to weave contemporary artistic tendencies into the region’s historical and cultural layers.
