Pilot Gallery will be the only gallery from Turkey participating in the first edition of Art Basel Qatar, showcasing works by Halil Altındere. Curated by Wael Shawky, Art Basel Qatar stands out with its open-display format and theme of “becoming.”
Taking place from 3–7 February 2026 at Doha Design District (DDD) and M7, the new edition of Art Basel brings together 87 galleries from the Gulf, the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.
Halil Altındere’s Solo Presentation
For its debut participation, Pilot Gallery will present a solo exhibition featuring works by Halil Altındere. Known for his critical approach to themes of migration, displacement, cultural identity, urban transformation, and socio-political realities, Altındere has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Documenta, Istanbul, São Paulo, Gwangju, and Sharjah biennials, as well as at MoMA PS1, Centre Pompidou, ACC, and MAK. In 2026, his works will also be featured in Manifesta, the Malta Biennale, Ludwig Museum, and Museum Ahlen.
