Last year, MeshRu opened its doors in the former Union Française building in Pera with the vision of creating an egalitarian and pluralistic meeting point. In its new exhibition, it presents the works of Gökhan Tüfekçi to the audience.

The solo exhibition “May Our Devil Be Abundant”  features works in which the artist interprets concepts from popular and arabesque culture through miniature art and street art practices.

Tüfekçi, who approaches the perspective and stacking style of miniature art with his own unique language, expands beyond the canvases using intense color and figurative elements, spreading throughout the entire exhibition space. Alongside traditional painting techniques, he also showcases three-dimensional works and murals created using the walls of the venue.

His works, produced in a variety of styles ranging from street jargon to childhood imagery and shadow play to slogans, are visualized with an ironic approach around the concept of absurdity, engaging the viewer with humor and wit.

Gökhan Tüfekçi’s exhibition, also known as Kara Gözüktü Kaptan, will be on view until March 16 in collaboration with Galeri Siyah-Beyaz.

MeshRu, which became part of Istanbul’s cultural and artistic life in 2024 with the goal of being an egalitarian and pluralistic meeting point, is located in the former Union Française building on Meşrutiyet Street in Pera. By bringing together innovative names and masters from different art disciplines, MeshRu opens a space where artists and art lovers of all ages who have something to say can express themselves freely.
