Tarık Töre is featured in the group exhibition Otherside at 8714 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood, California, running from November 14 to December 26, 2024.
Töre’s artwork blends elements of skate culture, internet trends, pop culture, politics, and art history into grid-like visual representations of collective memory. His “physical graffiti” series presents seemingly unrelated symbols such as a butterfly alongside a gun, or Bugs Bunny next to the Grim Reaper. Side by side in a way that reflect the chaotic and often contradictory nature of modern media. These combinations of innocence, pleasure, and violence mirror the constant flood of mixed messages that define contemporary information channels.
