Artsy is hosting artist Serdar Acar’s latest solo exhibition, Beneath the Clouds: Reality and Dreams, from November 22 to December 5 at Atakule Event Hall in Ankara. This marks Acar’s first exhibition in the capital and his most extensive showcase to date, featuring over 200 works that explore the complexities of modern human existence.
With a style that blends reality and dreams, Acar’s pieces delve into universal themes such as fate, love, loss, childhood, growth, and madness. His gentle and contemplative approach captures the solitude and existential struggles of contemporary life, creating a space for viewers to reflect on both the possible and the unattainable.
The exhibition’s opening event took place on November 21, attracting art enthusiasts eager to experience Acar’s unique vision. As part of the program, a range of events—including concerts, guided tours, and artist talks—will accompany the display, providing deeper insights into the themes and creative process behind Acar’s work.
Born in Istanbul in 1992, Acar graduated from Marmara University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, earning top honors in the Painting Department. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Art and Design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University while continuing his artistic practice at his studio in Istanbul’s Cihangir neighborhood. His work is characterized by a focus on the loneliness of modern individuals and the various ways they find to exist within that solitude.
Visitors can view the exhibition free of charge daily from 10:00 to 22:00 at Atakule Event Hall.
