Kolekta, an organization that aims to make contemporary art production in Turkey accessible to a larger audience, recently opened an exhibition series in Bregenz, Austria on December 2nd at Künstlerhaus Palais Thurn und Taxis.
The exhibition, curated by Derya Yücel, is titled “Everything will be just like now – just a little different -” and features works from 33 artists in Turkey. The exhibition will be available for viewing until January 7th.
The exhibition hosts Ahu Akgün, Alican Leblebici, Antonio Cosentino, Ayça Telgeren, Azade Köker, Berat Işık, Buğra Erol, Burçak Bingöl, Çağrı Saray, Canan Dağdelen, Cengiz Tekin, Eda Çekil, Erinç Seymen, Ferhat Özgür, Fırat Engin, Hüsamettin Koçan, Işıl Eğrikavuk, Komet, Mehtap Baydu, Metin Çelik, Murat Morova, Nadide Akdeniz, Nancy Atakan, Necla Rüzgar, Neriman Polat, Nezaket Ekici, Ozan Türkkan, Şahin Kaygun, Selim Birsel, Sena Başöz, Vahap Avşar, Volkan Aslan, Yaşam Şaşmazer’s artworks.
According to the curator, the title ‘Everything will be just like now – just a little different’ is suggested not as an exhibition concept or a theme, but as a name that will mediate a multi-focal diversity of discourse.
According to Yücel, rather than defining/summarizing the current state of art in Turkey, this exhibition presents a broad and current spectrum of visual art practices. Shaped as a result of an attempt to present a cross-section of certain tendencies, ‘Everything will be just like now – just a little different-‘ actually uses the language of plurality/complexity, and these components that keep today’s art fresh are forms arising from contradiction, conflict, hybridity, placelessness and difficulties. it’s coming out.
